Motivations for Trying to Witness

The thought that something I may do or say would be used of God

to affect where a person spends eternity is very scary stuff.

Most of us would shrink from such responsibility.

Certainly it should take a well trained expert to handle such a job.

I would very likely screw it up.

Fortunately these fears are not founded because we cannot screw it up.

The impact of our witness is entirely in the hands of God.

All we have to do is try, and leave the rest to God.

And we are commanded by God to do just that.

What an incredible honor that God should give us this task.

He has also given us a helper — The Holy Spirit — He will

guide us in what to say and do.

Note the following verses for additional encouragement:

And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. (Mat 4:19)

He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. (Psa 126:6)

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. (Joh 15:8)

Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. (Mar 5:19)

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: (1 Pe 3:15)

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Rom 1:16)

For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels. (Luk 9:26)
