Prayer Letter -- Dec 06
One day the trumpet
will sound for His coming,
One day the skies with His glory will shine.
J. Wilber Chapman,
1859-1918
We must first of all praise God for His many blessings
this year.
Our hearts are filled with joy for the work He has given
us and the staff He has provided to tend to the
details. Revelation 4:11 says,
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and
power; for thou hast created all things, and for thy
pleasure they are created. What a mighty
God we serve!
·
Merry Christmas
can often fall
from our lips without the true meaning really ever
sinking in. A Merry Christmas is because we can
celebrate the sure Word of God to provide for the
forgiveness of our sins and the eternal glory to come.
Our celebration should cause us to look forward to the
hope that we have in the Savior. The greatest gift we
can share with our congregation is the gift of a new
life in Christ! What a blessing to have this gift.
This gift gives new vision, new friends, new
relationships, new interests, new desires, and a grand
vision and desire of heaven to come. It can’t get any
better. Pray that
the Lord would use the 30 Christmas messages this month
to greatly bring honor and glory to Christ and salvation
to the lost.
·
There
is still time to meet our Christmas needs.
They are all posted on our web site. Please email if
you have further questions. All of your support is so
very much appreciated. Our prayers are that we can do
more than just make people happy with gifts.
·
Our services this month
have all been designed to bring about the truth of
Christmas and debunk some of the myths. People are
somewhat surprised when we say the birth of Christ was
because of our sin. When is the last time you saw a
Christmas card that said, “Merry Christmas Sinner?”
“The Reason for the Season is Our Treason Against God.”
Pray that the Holy Spirit,
will speak to the
nearly 6,000 exposures to the Gospel of Christ this
month.
·
Prayer
has been answered for drivers
at this
time but please don’t hesitate to come forth if you are
still interested…..backups are always appreciated. We
have also had good response to assist with youth
ministry but more helpers are needed.
Give the gift of your
time and love to a youth in great need.
·
In all of the business of
the season please remember us in prayer. We must always
have a presence in the city…the phones will be answered
around the clock as usual…real needs that come to the
door will be met as the Lord provides…we will be on the
streets every day for the cause of Christ …pray
that in everything God will get the glory and the
presence of Christ will be seen.
·
In all of the Christmas
work that is necessary, we must also, by His grace and
will, consider the plans for the year ahead. We seek
the wisdom of Solomon to accomplish the perfect will of
God. We do not want to do anything that would side
track us or get our focus off of the Lord. We view each
day as critical to the proclamation of the Gospel. We
want all of our planning to be meaningful with long term
effect. Pray for
our vision and direction as we look toward 2007.
-
Things are a little
slower for the youth at Camp Jabez this time of year
but the work goes on. Training for Jr. Wranglers as
well a horse care and maintenance are always needed.
Pray as we design totally new types of summer camps
for our youth and programs for the youth of our
supporting churches.
We are developing
the summer
mission trip for youth groups. How about
considering a summer on the ranch? There
is a mission field in your backyard. Best of all
the only cost is your time invested. The return on
the investment will be tremendous.
-
Most of all of our
communication with our supporters and prayer
warriors tell of the wonder of God’s work here. We
seldom use those communication vehicles for seeking
funds unless there is a special project going on.
We simply ask for your earnest consideration to keep
the financial support coming in so that we can
continue advancing the Word of God. It never gets
any less expensive year by year and on top of that
we must have funds to advance the cause into new
frontiers to combat the devilish ways that are
increasing every day. We do have some special
projects for Camp Jabez in the way of equipment,
adding to our barn to get our equipment out of the
weather and planning for overnight housing. For the
Gospel Mission development, we are continuing to
remodel housing and need additional funds for those
projects and for the Nehemiah University there are
some technology needs. Your investment will always
bring a wonderful return.
Please pray that
our budget and needs will all be met in 2007.
By His grace,
Ken Clarkston
